3D printing in Silicone from
3D-Alchemy.
Dear
!*FIRSTNAME*!,
Firstly I hope your New Year has got off to a
good start.
3D Printing in Silicone has a bit of a
history.
We first came across a
technology for 3d printing true Silicone almost 10 years ago.
The innovative process was being developed by a British start
up based in Sheffield and produced viable parts in real
silicone. Sadly the project didn't attract the required
funding and went away.
Skip forward 10 years and we've
seen several technologies come and go and there are new ones
on the horizon.
Our preferred Silicone material
is our 'Silicone Rubber' which is printed
using an inkjet derived technology. The material offers good
temperature resistance of up to 200 deg C and comes in
two different Shore A hardness values, 35 and 65.
The 3d-printing process gives
you fine detail and a smooth surface finish and this is helped
by the wash away support technology.
We're classing this material as
'Strong and Durable' and expect good longevity from 3d printed
parts when used in appropriate applications.
Our 'True
Silicone' alternative produces superb parts with
intricate detail with very thin walls and structures. 'True
Silicone' is available is a range of shore A values and has
biomedical certification. On the downside it is potentially
not as long lived and higher prices.

Don't forget our 'Materials

material choice and select the best match for your
project.
