3D printing in Flexible
materials.
Dear !*FIRSTNAME*!,
Back when we started our 3d
printing service in 2011 ( 13 years ! ) your options
for 3d
printing flexible materials were pretty
limited.
Today things have improved significantly,
with materials suitable for both prototyping or end use.
We currently offer 8 different options across a number of
manufacturing technologies. Here's a quick overview -
Silicone
(Jetted). Currently our most popular
flexible material in the Silicone
Rubber form, it offers durability and
excellent temperature resistance. 3D Printed on similar
equipment to Agilus it also gives you fine detail and a
smooth surface finish. Available in Shore A 35 and A 65 and is
best for most applications. Our
premium True
Silicone material has bio medical
certification and can resolve super fine details and is best
for high value
applications.
Flex80A
(SLA). Another popular flexible
material with our clients for demanding applications and
proven in selected motorsport\automotive applications.
Good durability and temperature resistance this material is a
Shore 80A. It's also good, cost effective option for
producing quick one off parts. We may also offer the 50A
version on demand.
Agilus
(Jetted). An evolution of the original
'Tango' materials, Agilus gives you excellent detail and
surface finish along with options for colour and
large format. It's soluble support
technology enables complex geometries giving you added design
freedom. Importantly Agilus is available in a
range of Shore A hardness values and can be combined
with rigid elements in the same design. Arguably not
super durable, best for prototyping and
visualisation.
TPU
(FDM and SLS). TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethane)
is available via both the FDM ( Black colour ) and SLS
(off white) 3d printing processes. A durable
material in the Shore 80A range suitable for end use
applications. It gives you good abrasion resistance and
retains flexibility at low
temperatures. Minimum feature and wall thickness is
typically 1mm with a textured surface.
Don't forget our 'Materials Wizard' is a great tool to narrow down your
material choice and select the best match for your
project.
